This was our first time traveling together, and I have to be honest I was a bit nervous about it. We had about a two in a half hour drive and let's just say my husband is not the talkative type. lol Traveling can be stressful for some and many disagreements can happen when traveling with other people. However, it was one of the most pleasant road trips I had ever been on before. We had the music playing and we had some very nice conversations.
I wasn't sure exactly what we were going to be doing in San Antonio, but it had been a long time since I had been there, and I was excited. We stayed at the Hampton Inn downtown, they are very nice hotels with a mid-range price, and fantastic breakfast. My husband is a member which you get reward points to use on future stays and they have discount prices for others as well. To learn more about Hampton Hotels Check our Review .
We had a corner room with views of the riverwalk which ran right past the hotel so you could walk out of the hotel right onto the riverwalk where there are shops, restaurants, bars, and you can catch a boat to travel along the river. We Checked out several places and yes, we took the boat tour as well. its very romantic even with other people on board. Seeing how we are both born and raised in Texas, the Alamo is something we have both seen so many times but, believe me if you haven't gone you really need too it is worth it and no, I'm not being biases. lol Visit the Alamo We decided to go to Ripley's Believe It or Not! San Antonio instead and it was a lot of fun with some very interesting things to see. I had never been on the boat ride before so, we went and its great due to the fact it allows you to see things you wouldn't see just walking around and the drivers give you some history of San Antonio during the ride. I do have to apologize we were not good about taking pics and we still struggle sometimes to remember but, we have gotten much better about it. lol
All and all we had a wonderful experience and San Antonio has a lot to offer. Being we are Texans we have done most of these and do highly recommend you check them out as well.
